Dr. Berl is the Core Co-director of the Human Neurobehavioral Evaluation Core (HNEC) within the District of Columbia Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Research Center (DC-IDDRC). She is a board-certified pediatric neuropsychologist.

Dr. Berl’s research focuses primarily on children with epilepsy and utilizes neuropsychological and neuroimaging processes to understand the effects of seizures on cognitive and language functioning. She brings expertise to CBPR in neuropsychological evaluation of children, mapping of cognitive functions, and correlating neuropsychological functioning with neuroimaging parameters.
