Dr. Gaillard is Professor of Pediatrics and Neurology at Children’s National Medical Center, George Washington University, and Georgetown Universities. He is associate director of CRI Center for Neuroscience at Children’s National Medical Center (CNMC) and Chief of Epilepsy, Neurophysiology, and Critical Care Neurology at CNMC. He earned his MD degree from Yale University School of Medicine in 1985. In addition to his research program in childhood epilepsy, he has built the autism clinical research program and is currently organizing a similar program in neonatal brain protection. His research iuses advanced structural and functional imaging to examine the effects of neurological disease and developmental disorders on brain structure and function, with an emphasis on higher order cognitive domains, especially language.
